Frequently Asked Questions
About Marketplace Apps
-
Workday Marketplace Apps are pre-built applications that extend Workday's native functionality. They install directly into your existing Workday environment with no separate platform or login required, helping organizations deploy new capabilities faster than custom development.
-
Any organization on Workday can benefit from Marketplace Apps. Whether you are a small business or a large enterprise, if you are looking to automate workflows, reduce manual effort, or unlock capabilities beyond what Workday offers out of the box, our apps are built for you.
-
Marketplace Apps are standardized, production-ready solutions available to any Workday customer. For organizations with unique business requirements, Makse Group also offers custom development through Workday Extend. Custom development is a separate engagement from an app subscription.
-
Yes. Marketplace Apps published through the Workday Marketplace are developed by certified Workday Innovation Partners and are reviewed by Workday prior to release. This includes areas such as security, scalability, migration readiness, development standards, and overall application quality. Some organizations may still perform their own internal security or procurement reviews before deployment.
-
No. API requests generated by Marketplace Apps do not count against customer API limits tied to Workday Flex Credits.
-
You can explore recorded demos directly from each app's listing on the Workday Marketplace. If you would like a live demo or have additional questions, please reach out to our team.
Licensing, Hosting and Contracting
-
You contract directly with Makse Group.
-
Workday is the host. Our apps are built on the Workday platform, which means they run entirely within your Workday environment on Workday’s infrastructure. Makse Group builds and maintains the applications, but we do not host a separate system or server. This means your existing Workday uptime commitments, data residency agreements, and security controls also apply to our apps.
-
No, our Marketplace Apps do not require a Workday Extend license. They are designed to operate directly within Workday on the Workday platform. If you already have an Extend license for other purposes, that has no bearing on your use of our apps.
-
Marketplace Apps are licensed on a subscription basis and aligned to your Workday license. Your organization is granted the right to use the app within your Workday tenant for the duration of the subscription period. Makse Group retains ownership of the app.
-
Yes. Each app is licensed independently on an annual basis. You can start with one app and add others over time. Apps do not need to be bundled together at purchase. Reach out to your Makse Group contact at any time to add additional apps.
-
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term unless your organization chooses not to renew. Renewal pricing is reviewed as part of the renewal process.
Security & Tenant Access
-
No. Makse Group does not have access to your Workday tenant by default. Our apps operate within your environment, but we have no visibility into your data or tenant configuration unless you explicitly grant us access, for example, during an installation or troubleshooting session. Any such access requires your authorization and can be revoked at any time.
-
Your data stays in Workday. Our apps interact with your Workday data using Workday's standard APIs and security model; they do not create separate data stores or transfer data to Makse Group systems. Your existing data governance and compliance controls remain unchanged.
Configuration, customization & support
-
Once you subscribe, Workday provisions the app to your tenant. Makse Group then manages the installation process and works with your team to configure, test, and deploy the app within your Workday environment. The exact timeline and implementation approach vary by app and customer requirements.
-
Requirements vary by app and are listed on each app's Workday Marketplace listing. If you are unsure whether your current Workday setup supports a particular app, reach out to us and we can confirm compatibility before purchase.
-
Our apps can be configured to fit your environment, including business processes, security domains, and security groups during installation. This covers the majority of what most organizations need to tailor the app to their setup.
We do not develop custom features for individual clients within a standard app license. However, we welcome customer feedback and feature requests, many of which help shape our product roadmap. Feature requests can be sent to appsupport@maksegroup.com at any time.
-
Makse Group provides ongoing support for the duration of your subscription. If you run into any issues after go-live, our team is available to help troubleshoot and resolve them. Apps also receive regular updates, including bug fixes, maintenance updates, and new features, throughout your subscription period.
Release & Compatibility
-
Apps follow a regular release cycle, with weekly updates and additional monthly releases for more significant enhancements. Minor fixes may also be pushed as needed. Customers receive weekly release notes via email outlining fixes, upcoming features, and other app changes.
-
Marketplace Apps are designed as long-term solutions. If Makse Group ever decides to discontinue an app, customers will receive advance notice and continued support during the transition period. As part of the Built on Workday program requirements, customers must be given at least 18 months' notice before an app is discontinued.
-
Yes. Our apps are aligned with Workday’s update cycles, including major releases such as Workday R1 and R2. We test apps against upcoming Workday releases to help ensure ongoing compatibility and a consistent customer experience.
